Escondido faire is almost unique in that it occurs on two different sets of dates each year: at the start of faire season and at the end. It's a smaller faire, with just a couple of stages for entertainment, but it has a substantial number of participants and quite a few patrons (visitors).

I like this faire and make a point to visit each of the two versions each year (the start and the end of the faire season). There are a large number of vendors, and for it's size, a very large number of entertainers.

This year there was Adam the Juggler (always a favorite of mine), She-enedra, Tribe Roman Morga, the Merry Wives of Windsor, Fowl Tales, Kenny Klein, A Fool and his Lady, and several other acts. Last year the Belles of Bedlam also attended.

This faire does not have a joust, but it does include a very nice battle reenactment. The Queen's show and court are very active, moving all around the faire doing parades and such.

All in all, this faire is well worth at least a visit a year.

If you've enjoyed your visit, please take a moment to drop some change into the tip jar to the left. Many thanks.
